Romare Bearden: Storyteller
Jun 9th, 2014
Jenkins Johnson Gallery is hosting an exhibition featuring the work of Romare Bearden, renowned descendant of the Harlem Renaissance, author, artist, and songwriter. “Storyteller” compiles a selection of Bearden’s watercolors, monotypes, prints, and collages that embody his improvisational and inventive techniques. Bearden was incredibly influential in the evolution of 20th century black arts and culture, and all of the work in this exhibition was produced late in the artist’s life.
